This approach means that social actors (researchers, citizens, policymakers, businesses, third sector organizations, etc.) work together throughout the research and innovation process in order to better align both the process and its results with values, the needs and expectations of society. UniBa, from the beginning, has made it part of its philosophy- thinking about the broad social, economic, political and environmental impact of scientific research. In practice, like the best examples, RRI implements it as a package that includes the involvement of many actors and public in research and innovation, the establishment and observance of gender equality and ethics in content and process, and formal and informal scientific education .

Knowledge transmission

The transmission of knowledge also makes the connection of research and projects with the academic offer. UniBa enriches its academic offer from year to year, building new basic and multi-disciplinary study programs, in accordance with the demands of the labor market and the development of contemporary knowledge.
