The Legal Adviser is a lawyer and highly knowledgeable particularly in education law, labor law, contracts, commercial companies and non-profit organizations, civil and financial legislation, environmental health and safety regulations, intellectual property (including patents, copyrights, and trademarks), technology transfer, research sponsorship, research integrity, etc.
The Legal Adviser of Barleti Group provides general legal counseling and judicial services to the Rector, the Administrator, other academic and administrative units, as well as organizations affiliated with the university, for all matters affecting the functions and interests of the university.
The Legal Adviser protects the institution’s interests in relation to third parties, represents the institution in matters related to staff and student claims, manages risk and plans legal protection, reviews procedures and drafts legal documents, and ensures legality in the institution’s operations.
1. Provides legal advice and analysis on how specific issues should be addressed and drafts acts such as decisions, orders, instructions, memos, and supporting documentation for the Rectorate and Rector, the Board of Administration and the Administrator, the Senate, the Permanent Councils of the university, heads of academic and administrative units, NGO Directors, and administrators of Barleti Group entrepreneurial units, etc.
2. Cooperates with the Human Resources Management Office and provides legal advice regarding staff recruitment, disciplinary management, and termination of employment relationships.
3. Drafts procedures, contracts, and forms related to vacancy announcements, recruitment of academic and administrative staff, full-time and part-time employment contracts, service contracts, performance evaluation, etc.
4. Drafts procedures, contracts, and forms related to relations with students, collaborators, experts, etc.
5. Provides legal consultation, drafts procedures and documentation concerning discipline and ethics for students and academic and administrative staff.
6. Cooperates with the Curriculum Development and Quality Unit and provides legal advice on matters related to accreditation processes and procedures, drafting new study programs, joint programs with partner institutions, student diplomas, etc. Contributes to the preparation of the relevant documentation.
7. Cooperates with other administrative and academic offices and units (especially the Departments, Admissions and Recruitment Office, Academic Secretariat, Finance Office, Protocol and Archive Office, etc.) and advises and guides them regarding the legality of processes, procedures, documentation, and actions that must be undertaken within the framework of their institutional duties.
8. Handles through administrative, legal, and judicial procedures lawsuits and complaints in which Barleti Group and/or its affiliated organizations are parties, starting from investigation, case preparation, and procedures up to the conclusion of the case.
9. Provides legal consultation and drafts contracts and other legal documents on which the commercial, contractual, and service relationships of Barleti Group with third parties are based.
10. Provides legal consultation and drafts acts, contracts, and cooperation agreements with other universities, public institutions, partners, and national and international donors.
11. Provides legal consultation, drafts acts and contracts, and follows administrative and judicial procedures concerning real estate properties, construction matters, intellectual property, etc.
12. Provides training sessions and seminars for academic and administrative units on legal and regulatory matters related to their functions.
