The Academic Senate is UniBa's highest academic authority, responsible for fulfilling its mission. He has the power to decide on the most important issues of the teaching and research process. The Senate consists of academic members with university degrees, representatives of major units and student representatives.
The Senate drafts academic policies in accordance with the development strategy and the law of higher education institutions.
It guarantees the autonomy of the institution, academic freedoms, and the rights of students. It proposes the strategic plan of development of the institution; approves the Statute of the institution; drafts the general structure of the institution; approves the regulations of the institution and other normative acts, according to the definitions made in the Statute and legislation in force; approves curricula and scientific research programs new studies, research, changes and their closure.
