ABOUT QUALITY ASSURANCE

Internal quality assurance is the ongoing process of monitoring, evaluating, guaranteeing, maintaining, developing and improving the quality of UniBa activity. UniBa develops policies and procedures for internal quality assurance, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, quality code and best practices.

Quality assurance in UniBais organized through a series of basic processes that affect the full realization of the academic process and the short-term and perspective development of university curricula of the institution, basic quality assessment processes and program and institutional accreditations. They are based on Higher education legal documentation and MASR bylaws and other bylaws, decisions and instructions of the governing structures of the institution.

UNIBA QUALITY ASSURANCE STRUCTURES

I. Quality Standards Assurance Commission


The Quality Assurance Commission (KSSC) is a permanent collegial body that provides guidance, advice and support in drafting internal quality assurance policies and procedures. KSSC supports the Curriculum Development and Quality Unit to fulfill its functions related to the maintenance of quality standards in the institution and the provision of study programs. The members of the commission represent experiencedand high levelacademic and administrative structures and in the field of quality assurance.

II. Curriculum Development and Quality Unit


The Curriculum Development and Quality Unit aims to support and develop an academic environment that operates in full compliance with national and international standards of higher education in all its dimensions (teaching, learning, research, short-term training and community services). The unit aims to maintain a quality culture at the institution level and study program that is reflected in students prepared in accordance with market demands, high level of their employment and research that affects the development of society.

INSTITUTIONAL PROCEDURE

The Curriculum Development and Quality Unit and its functioning are provided in the statute of the Institution, in the regulation of UniBa and in the regulation of the functioning of the NJZHKC. All procedures related to curriculum development and quality assurance are provided in the NJZHKC Regulation.

Periodic Evaluation Of Teaching And Research Activities.


a) Drafts the quality assurance criteria and standards applied in UniBa, in accordance with the Quality Code.

b) In cooperation with the AcademicVice Rector, drafts and organizes the processes of monitoring and evaluation of teaching activities at UniBa.

c) In cooperation with Academic Vice Rector and the Administrator determine the criteria for the distribution of the teaching load of the academic and teaching assistant staff.

d) In cooperation with Vice Rector for Scientific Research, determines the criteria and procedures for the evaluation of scientific research activities.

e) Conducts follow-up studies to assess the progress of student employment and the effectiveness of study programs offered by UniBa.

f) Draftsthe questionnaire with the students for the quality of teaching at the end of each semester, for the subjects of each study program.

g) Organizes focus groups with students to understand in depth the values ​​and challenges of the learning process from the students' perspective.

h) Conducts trainings related to quality standards for the teaching process and scientific research activities.

i) Compiles the annual quality assurance report at UniBa.


Curriculum Development


a) Orients and advises the basic units regarding the design, reorganization and improvement of curricula in UniBa.

b) Verifies all curricula of the study programs that are expected to open and adapts them to the official UniBa format in accordance with the legal requirements in force.

c) Verifies the curricula of the programs that will be reorganized according to the official format of UniBa and in accordance with the legal requirements in force.

d) Creates the database of curricula for each academic year and gives the necessary recommendations for their implementation.

e) Maintains close relations with the teaching secretaries regarding the curricula and monitors their implementation.

f) Reports on the implementation of curricular requirements at the end of the academic year and provides the necessary recommendations for the following academic year.

g) Conducts trainings with the academic staff regarding the design, development and updating of curricula.


Programs And Institution Accreditation


a) Keeps correspondence with ASCAL, regarding the accreditation of programs and the institution.

b) Compiles the program accreditation calendar.

c) Keeps in contact with the main units for the fulfillment of the recommendations arising from the evaluation reports and the accreditation board and it reports to ASCAL regarding their fulfillment (action plans for the fulfillment of the recommendations)

d) Updates the data of students, staff and structures in the ASCAL database.

e) Organizes, monitors and coordinates the processes of program accreditation and institutional accreditation.

f) Trains internal evaluation groups regarding the preparation of self-assessment documentation.

g) Participates as a member of the working groups for internal evaluation with the duty of coordination and organization of work until the final submission of documentation and then until receiving the accreditation order.

h) Organizes trainings with the academic staff regarding the internal and external evaluation processes for the accreditation of the programs and the institution.

i) Proposes changes in order to guarantee quality in accordance with the Quality Code and bylaws.

j) Drafts a report on the progress of accreditation processes at the end of the academic year, and provides recommendations on how to improve their progress.
