Professional Study Program: Operator in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality comes as a need to meet the market requirements for the qualification of the workforce (especially businesses operating in the tourism market), at a time when the tourism industry and related sectors are in a rapid development at national and international level. The program aims to provide students with basic knowledge on operational techniques of tourist service such as: travel services, guidance, hotel services, drinks and food, etc. facility of booking and comparing hotels, flights and rental cars online, as well as the rise of low-cost airlines have shaped and changed the tourism industry over the last decade.
This program aims to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Students develop computer skills, study sales and marketing techniques, learn about destination selection, and monitor the motivating factors and travel trends of tourists. It prepares students to use the most effective search and service tools as well as create tour packages.
The program was drafted after consultations with businesses operating in the tourism market (operational tours, travel agencies, and accommodation and hospitality facilities), adapting to their workforce qualification requirements.
The program provides students with basic operational knowledge in organizing travel, leading tourist groups, hotel operations, food and beverage, etc. The program has an applied character and as such, the theory is closely related to the practice, which is implemented in travel agencies, reception and accommodation structures, bar-restaurants, etc. Through classroom teaching, field projects and concrete practices in the tourism sector, the student is trained and deepens his knowledge for providing a quality service.
The program lasts 2 years (four semesters) and at the end of the studies, the student obtains a degree in “Operator in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality". The program is designed to implement the dual system of theoretical and practical learning, making it possible through practice to expose them to professionals and experts in the field, thus developing a network of colleagues and sponsors, which is a good way for a quick employment after graduation. The philosophy behind this program is the quality of service to the tourist, operations in tourism businesses and the development of new tourist destinations.
