Call for External Expert on Micro-Credential Course Development

Barleti University, as a partner in the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education funded project WB-Edu4Migration, invites applications for an external expert to support the development of micro-credential courses in the field of social work and migration.

About the Project

The project "WB-Edu4Migration – “Mitigating Migration Challenges in the Western Balkans: Bridging the Skills Gap for Social Care Providers via Curricula Enhancement and Micro-Credential Development” aims to strengthen the capacity of higher education institutions in Kosovo and Albania by enhancing curricula and developing targeted micro-credentials. The consortium includes partners from Kosovo, Albania, Denmark, Austria, and Italy, with the common goal of equipping social workers with the skills needed to support migrant communities.

Profile of the Expert

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Education, Curriculum Development, Social Sciences, Migration Studies, or related fields;
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating micro-credential courses;
  • Familiarity with European frameworks such as the EQF/NQF and the European Approach to Micro-Credentials;
  • Background in Training of Trainers (ToT) and academic capacity building;
  • Strong analytical, writing, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in migration education or working within the Western Balkans region is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of practical guidelines for implementing micro-credentials in higher education;
  • Collaborate with EU partners in designing Training-of-Trainers programs;
  • Provide feedback and mentorship during the design and piloting phases of micro-credential courses;
  • Participate in consortium activities as required (remotely or in person).

Timeline & Compensation

  • Engagement: 20 working days between June 2025 and June 2027.

Application Documents

  • A detailed CV outlining relevant qualifications and experience;
  • A portfolio of previous assignments related to micro-credentials or Erasmus+/EU education projects (if available);
  • A 2-page methodological approach outlining how the work will be carried out;
  • A financial offer in EUR (gross) for the 20 working days.
