Academic Structure

Faculty is the largest academic and research unit of MBU. The faculty consists of several departments. The governing bodies of the faculty are: the Dean, the scientific council, the chancellor and the vice-dean.

Dean is the main leader of the faculty. Dean must have the title “Professor” or “Associate Professor”. Dean of the faculty is part of the university’s academic management staff. His candidacy is proposed by the Rector, to the Board.

Scientific Council is a superior, collegial body of the faculty. It considers and decides on the most important problems of teaching, research and qualification.

Department is the basic academic and research unit. Department covers several similar scientific disciplines. The department includes all relevant academic body.

Head of Department is the highest authority for educational and scientific base unit. The head of the department must have scientific degrees. The department’s head is part of the university’s academic management staff. His candidacy is proposed by the internal academic body of the department, and he is nominated by the dean of the faculty, after the approval by the rector.

Other university’s units are considered: central educational secretary, public relations and media office, as well as other units or offices that can be created out of the faculties, but operating for the university and faculty services.
